Gnar Gnar – Krooked – 2007
Gnar Gnar from Krooked Skateboards, circa 2007. This is a limited edition VHS from the Gonz and his boys at Krooked. The entire video is filmed using VHS Camcorders. There are rumored to be only 1,000 copies on the market. You might be able to find one on eBay for around $50.00+ or so at this point. The video is great in my opinion! Each of the skater’s parts are interesting, and you can tell they were filmed on the fly. It sort of beckons to the days of making homemade skate videos with your friends. Bring back DIY to skateboarding!

I like the skaters from this video,just not in this one.it was pretty blah.What makes it a collectors item?The fact onlyy 1000 were made?I like ‘quirky skating’a la tiltmode army,but this one just did not get er done.sorry.

I was left totally non-plussed by this too. Thought the skating was nothing special. Apparently Gonz basically went out and filmed this off his own back without telling anyone at DLX what he was up to until it was done. He then turned up at the DLX office with a VHS master tape in one hand and an invoice for 10 grand in the other, which he handed to an incredulous Jim Thiebaud. He would have got a 2 word response from me and the second word would have been “off”…
I do think $50 is a rip off, but other than that I think this is a great video. Way better than Kronicles. I liked that it was straightforward skating, not a lot of BS like you get in so many videos these days, for instance the previously mentioned Kronicles video. The skating was fun, too. Nothing death defying, just pure, fun street skating. $50 is still BS, though. Thank god its finally posted on the web.
Fucking best vid I’ve seen in a long sime. The same New Order song used three times… classic. Skateboarding is silly.
I liked this video a lot. reminds me of growing up skating and just filming random stuff. Best video I’ve seen in a while.
