Lego Skateboards at Bricks Cascade
Last weekend the family went to a Lego event called Bricks Cascade that was small but pretty decent. The center floor was dominated by different creations with skill levels ranging from grade school kids to some pretty advanced Master Builder level accomplishments, a huge chunk was devoted to some impressive WWII era battles. The outside loop had various vendors selling old kits, current kits, and aftermarket compatible pieces, mostly weapons. There were a couple skateboards on display as well.
This banana board skateboard by Maddison Stapleton, though simple, was nicely executed. She paid attention to accurately replicating the construction of the trucks, which was a nice touch except that they are on backwards for that style of board. She was dressed up like the character Wild Style from the Lego Movie, which was cute, so I guess we’ll give her a pass this time.
Don’t tell me those are Randal’s cause they aren’t.
Here’s an odd looking character doing an invert on a quarterpipe. This was tucked back behind some other items on table and was pretty hard to get a decent photo with a phone and no unobstructed view. It looked less like a human and more like a strange insect.
A random collection of loose, overpriced minifig skateboards at a vendor table. 3$???
Very cool expo.
diggin’ the mid leg-ho plant shot
