Deck Dogz

Deck Dogz 1

Kicking off the inaugural post of Gratuitous Tony Hawk Appearances is Deck Dogz, an Australian movie out on DVD. Here’s Tony greeting the protagonists towards the end of the flick.

These are screen captures from the DVD that I have not watched other than to skip to his appearances for this piece. From the looks of it he probably spent a good day on the set. He’s playing himself (big surprise) so all that acting he did in Gleaming the Cube is paying off. Like I said, I haven’t seen watched it yet, but if the track record of films based on skateboarding is anything to go by, I’m sure it’s awesome, dude. Check out the official movie web site.

Tony Hawk In Deck Dogz

I know this seems more like Skateboarding Sucks turf, but I’ve been sitting on this idea for some time. I will prove it with the sheer volume of inane Tony Hawk appearance paraphernalia that I have accumulated.

I am yet to see this film, but was asked at one point to be the skate co-ordinator. The film was set in Sydney, Australia, but for the most part (beside T Hawk’s appearance) was filmed in Adelaide, South Australia.

I have friends who did all the stunt double work.

I have heard the film is terrible.

  2. Did the Deck Dawgs keep asking him to do the 900?
