I want candy (in a skateboard)

I want candy in a skateboard

I’ll use any excuse to pst a picture of Annabella Lwin, including colored sugar balls stuffed inside a hollow plastic skateboard. There are at least two versions available, the invert espousing “Loose Bearingz” and the more succinct “Rad.” Pics and bonus vid of Bow Wow Wow’s version of “I want Candy” after the jump.

Horizontal pics can be enlarged. I got mine a long time ago from Oriental Trading Company, but they don’t seem to be carrying them anymore, nor do they seem inclined to change their name to Asian trading company.

Annabelle Lwin inspired the most impure thoughts in me when I was 11.

I’ve always thought that this site could really use some more Annabelle Lwin!

Two days ago I saw a guy at Pier Park wearing a C30 C60 C90 cassette graphic around the hem of his t-shirt. I wondered if it was a Bow Wow Wow reference.

  4. Kilwag Says:

Has to be. Except i think Black Label or somebody else appropriated that graphic ( cassette tape and crossbones)

    C-30, C-60, C-90, Go!

For her full story I highly recommend a book called “The Wicked Wicked Ways of Malcolm McLaren”- what a friggin’ read! I loved how that one release only came as a cassette- My Cassette Pet…McLaren new that people were going to start carrying their music around with them like a lifestyle. Say what you will…he was an ace at spotting broad social trends.

Malcolm put out the first record with scratching…that would be noteworthy enough on its own, but he combined it with New York city jump rope culture, square dance calling, and South African jive - Duck rock changed my life!
