The Pine Log – The Independent Voice of Stephen F. Austin State University reports that student there have formed the second collegiate skateboard team. The team is looking forward to competing with UNC, the first University to have a skateboard team, in the spring.

man i live here and i have never heard of the unc skate team. knowing chapel hill though i bet its a bunch of hippie longboarders, either that or a bunch of indy rockers. no wait that would be duke.

Done right, this could be a hoot. The total subversion of collegiate sports. Maybe this will pave the way to legal skateboarding on campuses. There are usually a lot of great skate spots on college campuses.

Well, wait, does that mean they have skate scholarships?
what about the road trip to either city to compete against each other? the entire team gets pissed because of all the good parks passed along the way.
