Skate and Annoy: Daily

I can’t remember where I found this, you know, besides tonight when I moved a dresser and found it covered in dust bunnies. It must have been a kids magazine because it has the word “advertisement” at the top of the page. I’m not sure what other type of magazine would find the content confusing. No point in clicking through, unless you need a footnote for your thesis on exactly where cartoon characters, skateboards and food packaging intersect. 25% less fun, 100% more sugar!
Can’t let it go…
Honestly, not sure why skateboarders of a certain age are obsessed with the skateboarding footage in Back to the Future. After the last BTF post I made I seriously doubted that there would be any recurrences in the near future, but now here we are. It doesn’t hurt that I have little kids and still love Legos. CUUSOO is a project where lego fans design and submit Lego creations to the community. If enough people “like” the design then the gods of the plastic brick mountain will consider releasing a kit version or full commercial version of the model, and the designer gets a small percentage of sales. What Delorean Time Machine would be complete without Marty McFly and his skateboard?
Rastamouse
Rastamouse, is a BBC production featuring a detective and/or special agents who fight crime and play in a reggae band. Awesome voices. Visit one of their many web sites if you are in the mood to giggle and annoy your wife. Love it. Looks cool too. Rastamouse is not just a one episode skater, he’s on board for book covers and personal appearances as well. – Thanks to Andrew Mendoza for the tip.
Help Hackett
Iconic skater Dave Hackett recently survived emergency surgery for colon cancer that has left in a precarious financial position. Longtime allies at Skull Skates have set up a donation page to help ease the pain. [Photo: Glenn E. Friendman as seen on Freakbeatfuzz]
Board Rescue auction
The skateboards from the Board Rescue show are up for auction on ebay. There’s no shortage of good causes these days, but you can’t go wrong with Board Rescue. SOme of the names associated with these boards go for big money on ebay when they are just old production decks, let alone one-off original art pieces. Up top: Board art by friend of the site Judi Oyama.
Watch out for the wilson
Oh my glob, that is so unsafe! Clearly that elephant should be wearing a helmet… Jim Goodrich found this image somewhere on Facebook. Original context remains a mystery. Anyone?
Gene Pool expands
Gene Bowles backyard project gets bigger. He’s got updates planned for My DIY but you can catch some pictures here. Looks like it’s going to be a blast. Gene must have one cool girlfriend and/or wife and/or landlord.
