Excel – Unenslaved
I’m not fan of Excel (or Powerpoint for that matter.. Cue rim shot.) but at the very least, in 1995 they were well ahead of the curve paying respect to Dogtown. – Thanks to Matthijs for the tip
Won’t someone please think of the CHILDREN!
I would like to apologize to the posts that appear above and below this one.
James Jarvis for MTV
Illustrator and vinyl toy designer James Jarvis made this station ID for MTV with Richard Kenworthy. It’s a cool animation and it’s not his fault that the network is flaming bag of dog poo. That would be a good station ID for MTV actually. [Source: Hypebeast]
Honda Zoomer X
The Honda Zoomer-X is out there somewhere in Thailand. It’s got a space under the seat for a box that you can remove to carry longer items, like the suggested skateboard in this promo shot. [ Source: Motomalaya ] – Thanks to Boy for the tip.
Photo News
The cover of Photo News Canada, which should be subtitled “Your source for Canadian photoshopped photography.” Another Seismic sighting. – Thanks to Matthijs for the tip.
Earache my eye
Tom Penny board on Flip with Cheech & Chong, and the real Cheech & Chong, via Facebook. CSS has a brief interview with the duo regarding their appearance.
Rolling mechanic
A little bit of street luge and a little bit of skateboarding, all in one Volvo commercial. [ Source: Seismic Facebook feed.] – Thanks to Matthijs for the tip.
I don’t know, can we?
Closeup of a Mountain Dew ad circa 2001. Essentially a retread of the Nike’s “What if we treated all athletes…” campaign from 1997. Good idea, but still clumsy. “We can dream, can’t we?” No we can’t, because there is no “we” that you are implying. i’m not buying it for a second, (now third) pun. Slightly larger after the jump. I need the $16 it would cost, so it’s courtesy of photoshop.
Put it on a plate son
Put it on a plate son, you’ll enjoy it more. Just don’t put it in the microwave or dishwasher. This is a McDonalds “collectible” plate from 2006. I shouldn’t put collectable in quotes because I collected it. Got to give the artist credit for the stylish tuck knee frontside air and the apparent kickflip (heelflip?) on vert, even if Ronald is about to fly off the edge of the vert ramp. Nice bicycle helmet on Ronald. He is a clown though…
