Kiss of death
Kiss Online reports that some new Kiss flavored skateboards and fingerboards are coming. I know those guys are obviously business savvy enough to flog this dead horse all the way to the bank, but come on guys, where are the permalinks?

If I had a hammer
This excerpt from the book There I Fixed It (No, You Didn’t) was published in the May 2011 issue of Readers Digest, of all places. I thanked her first, but then I gave my mom a hard time for reading Readers Digest, saying that made her officially old.

Also on the fish, the unknowns have thought.
It could have been titled “Swiss Skate Pranks” but I thought the Google translation of this news article written in German was much more intriguing. Some pranksters in Hitzkirch, Lucerne (Switzerland) filled a skatepark bowl with water and some fish. This is skate harassment I can get behind.

More than meets the eye?
Transformers. More like less than meets the eye. Near as I can tell, the Access creative agency comes up with ideas… and then? They’ve got a ton of marketing/promotional projects online, but it doesn’t appear that any of them have actually come to fruition. Keep dreaming, young dreamers. One of their projects is a fancy series of miniramps with two giant Transformer robots overlooking them:
It’s the kind of event and setting that gets talked about, blogged about and written about – not just in skating circles but in the channels used by the general movie going public.
Well they got that right. We’re talking about it and it doesn’t even exist. Check it out at Access.

Insurance is for schmucks
“There are times when you need car insurance.” And then there are times when you need to get some new blood in your marketing department, Clal Insurance in Israel does.

Random in Rotterdam
Random window decoration s in Rotterdam. From what I gather, the store sells old ipods to martial artists and skateboarders.

Gay Style Angry Boys
I so wish these gay style skateboard toys were real. I’m gay for them. I first watched this video with the sound almost all the way off, cause Mrs Kilwag didn’t want it competing with the Vampire Diaries. I was viewing under the assumption that it was real, but then the drag queen mom made me suspect. With the sound on, it’s more than apparent that it’s a gag, and part of an upcoming Australian TV series (to be aired in the UK and US as well) called Angry Boys. It’s pretty damned funny, but I do have to point out that even if it was real, Tim wouldn’t have been the first openly gay sponsored skater. IMDB sasy this is supposed to air some time in 2011. Catch the gay skateboarding specific part of the trailer and a longer one after the jump. Remember you saw it first at Merde.

Skateboard strap wars
Slingz and the Sk8rstrap are two brands of strap that are designed to help you carry your skateboard instead of ride it. Slingz is more of a professional operation, with a somewhat professional looking website, while Sk8rstrap is pure amateur hour. Slingz has some funny videos, kids strapping on the skateboard inside just long enough to brush some teeth, run downstairs and walk out the front door to skate in the driveway. I think they advertised in Concrete Wave once or twice. Sk8rstrap doesn’t have much of a website. They’ve also got one of the most convoluted and arcane e-commerce setups. I dare you to try and figure out how to buy one. Note: I’m not daring you to actually buy one, just try and figure out how to do it. They’ve been in business since 2007 if you believe the copyright on the web site. Skateboard accessories… you can’t beat ’em with a, uhm, strap.
Gleaming the Cube for sale
Movie prop from Gleaming the Cube was up on eBay. It’s basically a skateboard with a deck made out of solid metal. It sold for $416. Sorry to blow this out for you Neil. Get some more Christian Slater skateboard action here.
The dropout squirrel
Crazy Squirrel de gesjeesde eekhoorn, which translates form Dutch to “The dropout squirrel?” OK. Screen caps after the jump, or get some on your own.
