Bake and Destroy
The incident began before 9 p.m., when about 1,500 skaters and skate fans showed up to a theater that only holds 600 people to watch a free premiere of the skateboard movie, “Bake and Destroy.” At least NBC News knew what was going on. One site said it was 300 “protestors” who were mostly skateboarders, except they couldn’t say what they were protesting. That’s the left wing media for ya man, I’m voting for Reagan. – Tanks [sic.] to Evil Tom for the tip.
Patriot Games
Spotted at the New England Patriots Museum, AKA the Hall At Patriot Place. Thanks to Brian Baade for the picture.
BB & BK in RS
Bones Brigade coverage in the October issue of Rolling Stone. Maybe it’s November, magazines always seem to come a month ahead of schedule. Adele is on the cover. That’s a new photo of an old photo, both by Bryce Kanights.
Pad rot smell free with purchase
This is one of those crappy little cinch-style backpacks sold at the online equivalent of one of those stores at the mall that’s filled with 100% character goods, Hello Kitty and the like. I think Donald Duck is going to eat it. Bonus shot of Mickey Mouse in a full on stinkbug style frontside air after the jump.
Cheetos Spinners
Market research has determined that Europeans, when eating junk food, want to be reminded of extreme!™ sports and the United States of America. And hence, Cheetos Spinners as spotted in Holland, with Chester Cheetah hitting a stair set somewhere in Seattle. Chester has aged well. – Thanks to Matthijs for the photos.
I have evolved
I have evolved, but I still get around. Here’s a true exchange I had about this recent eBay purchase: Friend: How the hell are you going to listen to an 8-track?ME: It’s OK, I have it on vinyl too.Friend: Your wife must hate you.
Thin Dots
Thin Dots are little stickers for your Home button on your iOS device. They have a skateboard series. Noticeably absent, SKATE AND ANNOY! Seriously, Mentality skateboards? Never heard of them. I’m sure they haven’t heard of us either.
Friday T&A on S&A: Something for everyone
I still like that last Devo album. It’s good. I think they are are working on another one. Here’s some, uh, fashionable skateboarders. Jocko Homo on the left was found on Why I Don’t Skateboard and Jocko Hom on the right is from Chick Break. No idea where either of them originated.
Blades and boards. We’re friends.
U Mobile is a Malaysian telco and broadband company that was founded in 1998, so as a teenager you’d think they be a little hipper. – Thanks to Boy from SkateMalaysia.com for the tip.
Portlandia and Old Skater
Carrie Brownstein after filming another episode of Portlandia with a skateboarding segment. They shot at Burnside last season. I haven’t posted that yet. Local skater Russ from Gorey Details suited up as an “old skater” for this episode.
