Pep #348 was published in April of 1979 by the Archie Comics Group. It’s got a six page skateboard-centric story called “Board With It All.” (Get it? GET IT???) and an ad for the Sales Leadership Club in which you can earn an Action-tail skateboard. Reggie takes on Frankie Valdez, the “champ’s champ.”

Frankie Valdez in “Board with it all.” Comic Vine says Frankie was introduced in the 70’s only to be retired in the 80’s, only to be reintroduced in the 2000’s. The story is a familiar one (See Skate Scoot). Reggie gets mad because everyone says Frankie is a better skater, so he challenges him to a contest and sabotages his board. The board breaks mid-run and Frankie miraculously manages to benefit from the accident and ends up winning.

Sell 10 boxes of greeting cards and you can earn an Action-Tail skateboard, which is probably a Huffy Actiontail skateboard. Pretty sure that tape recorder will play other bands besides AC/DC.
