World record?

It’s one of those categories where nobody else is competing, except for maybe Bob Burnquist and Danny Way, but maybe they don’t even know it yet. I don’t know who Adil Dyani is, do you? I watched the trailer for “Never Quit,” a motivational film about skateboarding. I’m wondering why I haven’t heard of this guy before, because it almost seems like a Sacha Baron Cohen project. That’s one hell of a bomb drop, but also one waste of money for one trick. It’s a temporary installation that just ends in the flat. He probably should have called of Bob and asked if he could try it at his house, but thenBobprobably would have beat him to it.

  1. Kudos for finding this, it does seem like we would have all heard about this already? But I too have never heard of him, nor any blurb of this attempt. The lack of DC and Red Bull product placement has forced this into obscurity.

If only he was a ‘Bruno’ or a ‘Borat,’ an eXtreme euro athlete with a bucket list.

Alas, he was/is a 90s Euro vert pro. Norwegian, I believe.

  4. I remember him from way back in the day…

Swedish, (I think) vert dude from the 1990’s

  8. I met up with him once on a Diesel clothing shoot late 90s, nice guy

  9. I totally remember the guy, but maybe I’ve just had the kind of life with periods of not enough skating and too much poring over every word of every magazine (remember magazines?) and now my brain still spits out names like Bela Horvath just to see who else remembers…

    1. I don’t, but he does Link

  10. I met Bella in 1983 at a punk gig at Cathay de Grand in Hollywood. He was super cool! I was like 15yrs old. He was with an older guy I immediately recognized and I says ” Hey, you’re Tony Alva, you were my idol!” Alva looks at me, flips me the bird and say’s “F- you!”… It really bummed me out at the time, but now I totally understand, I actually think it was pretty Epic!

  11. I know about Adil since he

  12. Ohhh youngsters.. those who know Adil know he’s a legend vert skater with a pretty successful track record from the states. Read and Learn. Check out the latest World Record Bomb Drop at http://www.ADILDYANI.com.
