This guy makes Lil Wayne look like Lil Wayne. And, though it is making a mockery of what rap became, it is truer to its roots, tone-wise, cuz it doesn’t miss that rapping to the beat is a joke, musically (duh-huh)(Smarty Dumbs missed why we “Never thought hip hop would take it this far” from Rappin’ Duke… this guy does not… nor did Missy Elliot at her bests). And the near-nonsense of “Warm weather!” is eerily reminiscent of “Fire Corner!”, the REAL roots. Cuz rap no more originated in the Bronx or Brooklyn than skating with attitude did in Dogtown.
In fact, Compton was way more fundamental to the origins of skating with attitude, because of its pools, than it’s ever been to rap, compared to Jamaica which birthed it.
Foothermore, if Biggie and Tupac had realized they were a joke, they would still be alive. And, if they always did, they are. …And why not; it’s not as if the precursor of all rap beefs, a musical back-and-forth between Prince Buster and Derrick Morgan, did not turn out to be put on for business’s sake… though the Prime Minister had to go so far as to officially point that out in ’62, to a side-taking nation of badmen.
