Few people in the world have stayed as true as Black Label Skateboards founder and sole owner, John Lucero. John and Black Label have given so much to skateboarding over the last 30 plus years, so to re-launch the brand at CCS we decided to get a quick run-through of the history of Label from John himself. We’re excited to be able to offer you the latest and greatest from this iconic company. Check out new Label boards on CCS.com now!
More from Snoop Dog and Mark Gonzales, and adidas Skateboarding:
In celebration of Snoop Dogg and Mark ‘Gonz’ Gonzales’ limited edition ‘LA Stories’ footwear and apparel collaboration, adidas Skateboarding releases a new music video featuring an original track by the hip-hop legend titled “Cali Way,” a record that highlights and celebrates the unique youth driven lifestyles of South California and Los Angeles. The music video highlights the day-in-the-life of an old school, West Coast themed day party held at the legendary Randy’s Donuts to launch the ‘LA Stories’ capsule.
VICE Sports: The skate scene in Cuba is only now starting to garner some attention, however there is an unequal divide between the men and women in the sport. We spent a day with a young skater named Leiani Hernandez Puentes to learn about how she got started in skating and why so many girls are deterred from doing the same.

There’s nothing like some good old-fashioned nostalgia, right? You know when you hear that song that instantly transports you back to a time where you can almost smell what you ate for dinner that night? Well CCS catalogs happen to have that same effect on skateboarders. We all grew up with them, and so many of us bought our first boards, shoes, or videos from them. We’re constantly hearing people’s stories about the catalogs, so we joined forces with our friends at The Look Back Library and after they traveled the country, sourcing tons of our vintage catalogs for us, we now have an arsenal of memories to share! For our first look into the past, we grabbed CCS team rider Ryan Lay to talk about a 1997 Back To School catalog that was from the era when he first started skating. If you have a good CCS story, or any old catalogs, feel free to send us a message! We want to hear them!.
