The premier issue of Skate and Annoy. Neil said “We should make a zine,” so we did. Photocopied in my dorm.
Featuring: UK Scene report (Wow, in first issue!) Competitng hammerhead shapes in product review, street skating on university of Illinois campus, Midwest mini tour, review of Naked Raygun show with skate rock band McWilson opening – (unbiased, I’m sure, as both S&A editors were in McWilson, and McWilson was created out of thin air to open for Naked Raygun.) Stupids Album review, comics, two sentence interview with Henry Rollins, Neil’s Hate Page.
Spots: The quad of the university of Illinois, a skateable sculpture in Naperville, Illinois, Romford pool, Oak Street Beach, O’Hare Airport, Perfect Rampin Oakbrook, Darien/Westmont Taco Bell ramp
Editor’s Note: All-in-all a pretty good first issue with a surprising amount of photos. Right out of the gate we really had a lot of attitude and took ourselves seriously.
