If you look at some online uploads of V1#4, they say 1975, but the masthead itself says 1965. There's an article and photos on dowhill, a 2 page debate about stif vs flexible boards, a "Going Vertical" photo feature with most riders a yard below the coping, a random assortment of freestyle photos, contest roundups, longboards, "photos from readers' (how did they get photos and mail from readers when they hadn't published an issue in 10 years? A: probably sent to parent publication Surfer and diverted to Skateboarder. ) and Who's Hot features with Bon Neishi, Torger Johnson, Chris Yandell, Bruce Logan, Tom Sims, Bruce's Walker, Glen Woodruff, and Greg Weaver.
