Radical Christmas Cookies
I don’t suppose this skateboarder cookie cutter is limited to Christmas, but it looks like a gingerbread style cutter, and that’s what I associate gingerbread with. The embossed text says “© 1989 Lk Mfg Corp Product No 8876” I’m thinking they decided to add a skateboarder to their product line and used some late 70’s or very early 80’s photo as a reference.
Happy Holidays
Taking the Holidays off. Happy Festivus, Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, etc… to you and yours! If you’re hurting for holiday content, check out these past posts filed under Christmas and Holidays.
Ho Ho Whoring it out
Powell’s got three Christmas themed items on sale for the holidays, not one, but two different Vato Rat skateboards and new this year, Ripper ornament. That ornament is only 6 bucks. I’m getting one.
Xmas Gift hall of fame
I have to hand it to my mother in-law, she’s really gotten better with her gifts for the most part. She’s gotten past the part of just getting anything skateboard related, and she’s really thoughtful about it. Still, I totally cracked up when I go this in the mail from her for Christmas. Not only do I already have Disposable, but it happens to be the second edition which has a quote by me on the inside dust jacket! I got an extra giggle because my mother in-law is an author herself. All in all it brought me unexpected joy, which is the purpose of giving a gift in the first place. Sidenote: I just realized the type alternates colors on different editions of the book.
Squirrelly Christmas ornaments
It looks like a rat, but I think it’s a squirrel. My wife got this post x-mas on clearance last year. Too many pics after the jump.
Schlomo Christmasclaus
Merry Xmas It took as long to put together as it did to shoot the whole thing. Gvk Spreads X-mas joy. I am not going top to slo-mo work all the time in case anyone cares. Battleground all to ourselves. We here at GVK studios wishing you a Merry Festival Day, Jesus.
Christmas
Merry Christmas and/or Happy Chanukah, Kwanza or whatever it is you celebrate. The board on the right is this year’s Powell Peralta x-mas deck. The Frosty Ripper is still available at a handful of shops if you’re in the market. The one on the left? I’m not sure when it was made, but I found the picture here. I pretty much completely slacked on it this year but it is easy enough to peruse skate paraphernalia from Christmas’ Past.
In the spirit of giving
If you need to donate some money before the end of the year, consider giving it to one of these fine organizations supporting skateboarders by promoting skateparks and skateboarding. Follow the links below and click on their donate button. You can give the government everything you owe, or you can direct a portion of what you owe to your favorite skate advocacy organization and reap the tax benefits. You might also check if your employer has a gift matching program. I forgot one.
I forgot about this Christmas tree made out of skateboards, sent to me by Jungle Jim Kuiack. At first glance I thought it was just an oddly shaped fake Christmas tree.
