Prepubescent pop star ollies higher than me

His balls haven’t dropped, but he can acid drop. This is teenie bopper and recent musical guest on SNL, Justin Bieber in Teen Vogue. Man, he looks special in that outfit.

Big Brother comes to Poway

The City of Poway has temporarily closed the skatepark due to “turnstyle construction” which is a weasel’s way of getting around the fact that they are installing biometric fingerprint ID scans as way restrict park usage for certain age groups during select times and of course “cut down on vandalism.” The scanner has a price tag of $5,700, but who knows what it will cost in red tape and overhead in the future. And what is the human cost? WON’T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK ABOUT THE CHILDREN. Oh my god, I think I’m going to be sick. We’ll sink with California, when it falls into the sea. See SIgn On San Diego for the full, sad tale.

– Thanks to Tito for the tip.

I’m flying in on a DC 10 tonight

Spanish songs in Andalucia, sing of tight transitions in expensive private residential housing developments, designed by A-cero. Spanish bombs, yo te quiero infinito. Sotogrande!

Sleestak trademark infringement

Advertising for the Ford Fiesta disguised as street art. I wonder how little kids growing up are going to navigate through the land mines of Madison Avenue as they grow up. In a way I imagine it will roll right off their backs. Maybe it will make them more suspicious of everything.

– Thanks to Doug for the photo.

FELEM in Japan

I just got back from a trip to visit the guys at FELEM in Japan who are a Japanese skateboard distributor out in the Sashima County of Japan. It’s a 1 hour train ride on the Shonen-Shinjuku Line from Central Tokyo (Shinjuku) out into the middle of the Japanese Country.

Because I love you

I have made these improvements to the site. I added long overdue threaded comments. So now you can reply directly to a bonehead instead of having to quote them in hopes that people know who you are responding to. I love how MC’s comic about the inevitability of slamming has turned to an argument about wearing pads. He didn’t even mention helmets. You’ll also notice little square boxes next to your comment. If you don’t have an avatar you’ll see a tiny blue razor scooting kook. If you want to change it, head on over to gravatar.com and you can upload one for free. It will show up on any site that uses gravatars, which stands for Globally Recognized Avatars. I added tags to the posts as well, just another way of linking posts with similar subject matters. I’ve been using them for a while but the whole back catalog isn’t tagged yet. Some day. Let’s see, I also went back and re-uploaded all the old commercials and TV spots that were deleted when I got the boot from YouTube. I spread them out a little and got wise (vague) about the descriptions, so they should be up there for a while. There are over 50 now. Enjoy.

Herman’s Hole and wildlife refuge

Yeah, the concrete is smooth, but there’s a frog in the coping. It’s been about a year since we first posted on Herman’s Hole. The second skate jam campout at the Hole is May 7th & 8th… in MIssouri!

The old standby

Here’s a pretty cool ad from Converse. It looks much better larger, on Ads of the World. Never actually seen it in a magazine. This isn’t even an add for Converse Skateboarding. Anybody that skates has probably worn Chuck Taylors at one point or another.
