Skate and Annoy: Daily
On the third day he rose from the dead, dressed as a rabbit and gave chocolate to the kids
Easter bunnies on skateboards. It may look cheap, but this little guy costs $20 from Enjou Chocolat. More chocolate Easter bunnies after the jump. Don’t forget to rewind last year’s disturbing pre-restraining order footage of Peter Cottontail doing some shredding with the kids.
Chopper and Handsome Dal make a video
Some novel street action from Nippon. Looks like clips from a longer video. I’m going to draw comparisons to some of the Richie Jackson footage or maybe this other Japanese action. I found this on the blog of the guy Harvest who did those cool sculptures made out of old decks. Anyone care to translate?
Deep in the woods of Maine
I posted this one on East Coast time, just for our readers from Maine. Thomas Dupere sent in a couple pictures of a basement bowl and the beginnings of some DIY crete in the woods. I think they planning to pour this weekend.
Get’cha head together
I caught this in passing the other day. I thought it was going to be lame, but it was actually fairly decent. It’s about as good as something like this could be from an unconnected third party like Disney. It’s part of a series on kids and sports… I think. I’ve never seen any of the other ones.
Yo-Be Annoyed by This
We’re now officially in the midst of an annoying trend in which toy commercials are promoting other activities besides skating at skateparks. There have been at least two or three, as well as a cheese commercial with RC cars. This one is for the Yo Be, something that looks like a cross between a frisbee and a yo-yo. Best part is, they shot all the action scenes in front of a green screen so there are lot’s of vertigo inducing physics scenarios where camera angles don’t match up.
Happy face
Found this on the Flickr site of designer/illustrator Olly Moss. There is some great non-skateboarding-related stuff there too.
eBay Watch: February 2010
Damn, it seems like I make excuses every month for how late the column is! Well this month I have a real excuse: I was in Maui on vacation. I considered taking a laptop with me for about 10 seconds, but then the hassles of getting it through security and having something else to carry made me realize that it was a bad idea. Not to mention the fact that I realized that there would be no way I would be spending 4 hours inside typing while in Maui. Sorry guys, I had other stuff to do. I also became a US citizen in March, so that chewed up some time too! It’s been a busy month all in all.
Maybe you can get Photo incentive money out of this.
A local skatepark benefactor sent this in:
They loved this at the emergency room. Sixty-one year old guy riding an Advil skateboard breaks his arm at the skatepark. If it didn’t hurt so much it would be funny.
Check out the sweet $25,000 hardware he picked up. Fortunately, his insurance took care of it.
