Skate and Annoy: Daily
Sponsor Luv: Merde Skateboards
Welcoming Merde Skateboards to the list of beloved sponsors with this video called Uber. It’s a video. It’s a winter time video that started back in August ’09. Everyone’s skating, except for Tyler since we didn’t have any footage because Carlos taped over his stuff. Oh, well. It has Stevie Wonder. He’s singing a remake of a Beattle’s song. I never really got into the Beattles a whole lot. They’re good, but Stevie is rad. He’s from Michigan. Rensberry is from Michigan. They never called Stevie “Doctor Fantastic”, but they did call him “Little Stevie”. He got on Motown when he was like 12. That’s like getting on Girl when your 15…good luck. Stevie Wonder is the best. PERIOD.
Random Swedish wall ride
Or not. It seems like I’ve seen this terrain before, I’m thinking France, but I’m not certain. In the still it looks super steep, but the motion of the rider looks smooth. Look for it about 50 seconds into this video review of the 2011 Volvo C30, as seen on AutoWeek.com. – Thanks to Freakbeatfuzz for the tip.
Bowl Bash benefit in Grant’s Pass
Matt’s bowl is sick and he’s building more terrain in the yard. It was a great party last year. More video here and here. Details on the flyer after the turn.
Ironically, irony is expected
Okay, so I copied the iconic James Cassimus shot of the Jay Smith layback at Whittier Skate City.
GVK# 55
It’s been a long time in between movies so here is a little something to keep you watching. A few friends riding falling and singing, Enjoy this GVK production.
Mega Dega Puehse
Haven’t heard from the Puehse Twins lately, wonder what they’re up to? Making movies that I’m going to have to hide from my kids because if they ever see this, I’m going to have to watch it 100 times. The DVD release of Nic an Tristan Go Mega Dega! is June 8, 2010. – Thanks to Simon Mrozinski for the tip.
Art of Board
Used skateboards are getting to be quite a commodity. It used to be you were a poser if you just carried your skateboard instead of riding it. Now I feel like poser because I’m not making stuff out of old skateboards. Art of Board recycles skateboards for furniture and a bunch of other vague things that they don’t really explain, other than to say that they provide commercial/residential interiors, retail environments, display and design, furniture and artwork. They are launching a program called I Ride. I Recycle. to collect boards for recycling at skateshops across the country. UPDATE: Art of Board answers some of your questions: – Thanks to Rick MacDonald for the tip.
Bobsled track downhill
I’ve often wondered what it would be like to ride a skateboard on a bobsled track. I always assumed it would be too fast to contain it, but that was before I contemplated what the surface was. Danny Strasser doesn’t have to wonder. He’s hit a bunch of tracks all over Europe. I wonder if these are sanctioned runs or barge sessions. I imagine after recent sad events these tracks might be harder and harder to get onto with four wheels. – Thanks to Jesus Crust for the tip.
