Not that there’s anything wrong with that

That’s that last time I let my kid watch the Bones Brigade Video Show. Sure, he knows who Lance Mountain is, and he gets gets a kick out of knowing that Lance has been to the same skatepark, but then he’s also demonstrating a strange fascination with Mullen’s footage. He’s only four. Maybe it’s just a phase.

He never hurt nobody

An individual with a skateboard and a gun robbed a bank in San Diego. We need your help in identifying… what kind of board he was riding! Ba-dump, crash! Nice one. Did I get you? Like I’m going to ask everyone to rat out this guy. As long as he sticks to the lyrics.

– Thanks to Eric Cherry for the tip.

World’s bigger-er-est skateboard bail

I’m pretty sure this is the same board from Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory. It’s pretty tame video until you get to the end part where the guy jumps off and appears to get run over. I can’t believe they let that thing roll unchecked, and then didn’t follow through. There’s probably more footage elsewhere, looks like it’s on Woodward property. Check it out on MSNBC.

– Thanks to Egbert and Kelly Hillyer for the tip.

SOTW 7-12-10: Tom’s tombstone

Ok, it’s a little morbid, but still, I have to believe any skateboarder who knew what a tombstone was would be pleased to have one named in his honor. This week’s Shot of the Week from the Tommy McGuigan memorial Dawn of the Shred. at the Corvallis, Oregon skatepark. Check out the Shot of the Week. Bonus out takes after the jump.

Tommy McGuigan memorial pics

The Benton County Skateboard Alliance was kind enough to send over some pictures from Saturday’s Tommy McGuigan memorial challenge AKA Dawn of the Shred. Looks like it was a good time. Check it out after the jump.

UPDATE: I didn’t realize these were from (drumroll please…) Colin Walsh. I’ll have to change the copyright info.

Machotaildrop in Portland

Friday night only at the Clinton Street Theater. All ages show at 7pm. 21 and over at 9pm. It looks good if you are into a Wes Anderson/Spike Jonez/Michel Gondry vibe with skateboarding as a plot device to boot. Might be the first time a skateboard drama doesn’t suck. Check out the trailer.
