Please don’t skate in the Pool

The Pool” is a temporary installation in a public swimming pool in London. Nike 6.0, the action sports (excluding skateboarding) division set this up for BMX action. If you’re a UK reader of this site who doesn’t have a bike, they’ll even loan you one. This idea is… interesting. I wonder if they’d let someone skate it? I know, skateboarders are always glomming on to the blood sweat and tears of the the action sports industry. When are we going to get it together and make something for ourselves? The Dagenham Swimming Pool sessions end June 12th. That’s one massive temporary structure.

Skateboard (dog) Harassment

Dreamdogs UK “reports” that a skateboarding street stunt dog was fined about $160 for not being on a leash. Where was the cop during the Tyson craze?

Helicopter slam

The guys over at Skatehouse Media and Wheelbase Mag have really upped their game when it comes to capturing downhill race coverage. Who would have thought throwing a helicopter into the mix (when not dropping into a mega ramp) would be useful, but for downhill it really is nice. While I was waiting for the video from Maryhill (still above top) to make the final cut, the crew went to another event in Colorado called the Buffalo Bill Downhill. Unfortunately, the helicopter crashed! But fortunately nobody was seriously injured and the whole thing was caught on video and in stills. The two photos in the bottom are credited to Marcus Bandy at Wheelbase. The one on the right is from a preview of the race, while the one on the left is an amazing shot of the helicopter as it is hitting the ground.. After the jump, catch video coverage of the crash and Maryhill footage with absolutely no (helicopter) crashes.

Rainbow Ground

Reader D.I.Y. from the U.K. This spot first started with something called the rainbow ledge, a curb that kind of looks like a rainbow. It’s apparently mostly a one man operation, or at least it has been in the past. I don’t know where this guy finds all these curved preformed concrete curbs, I want one. There’s some videos after the jump, but you might as well head on over to the Rainbow Ground to catch all the pictures, including construction phases.

Errr… Friday, uhm… T&A?

Maybe if you squint, but don’t look to close, because I think this might be a 12 year old boy. Check out the way the bikini bottom droops in crotch. Anorexia is such a turn on. Get more of less, on Velvet Cigarette, a web site dedicated to the model who is Rachel Lynch. She loves that skateboard though, there are several photo sessions with it. Rachel, when you get around to reading this, I already know that I’m more or less fat.

– Thanks to Boy Ipoh for the tip.

Aggressive non-violence

If you’re a fan of this site then it should come as no surprise that after the jump you’ll see way too many pictures of these Toyboarders that are essentially the skateboarding version of plastic army men.

Hopeless Old Men On Skateboards

In Boston visiting my daughter. I didn’t bring my computer so I think I’ll take a break. I’ll probably draw, I just won’t post very much if at all this week. Back home Wednesday, May 18 – the comic will resume then. Skate a few walls for me, pal.
