Estacada, Oregon skatepark opening
Sam informed us that the grand opening of the new Dreamland skatepark in Estacada, Oregon is happening on May 19th. Lifeblood team demo, which might include Red himself, seeing as how he recently joined the team. EPM has a sneak preview. GVK has the shortest video ever after the jump.
Newspapers should be censored
I didn’t read the article because I was so annoyed with the image. You got your classic “guy in the sky” shot on the second page too. Slightly altered NYTimes online image above. Original screenshot after the turn.
Machines for Skateboards
I thought these heat transfer machines were like 10k or something, but apparently they go for $3,500 to $5,500 depending on whether or not you want to transfer one side at a time or two. These guys sell everything. Skateboards, plastic skateboards, Griptapes and Hardwares [sic.], trucks, skate tools and yes, heat transfer machines. Machines for Skateboards was the title of the email they sent me with this image, so I thought I’d find out how much this stuff costs. Probably a bit higher in reality. I’m sure that doesn’t include shipping and import tariffs. Machines for Skateboards reminded me of the “Robot Skateboarders” in Screen Printing is Amazing, because it is. Alternate title: Heat Transfers are Marvelous.
Kick (flip) Glass
You know, kick glass, like kick ass, but it’s a skateboard, so it’s kick flip glass. Uh… I got nothing. If someone is doing something unusual or unnecessary, you can bet there will be at least two others doing it. Although for every two object d’art, there’s one item that more or less serves a purpose. These are skateboard decks made out of glass. Glass skateboards. Glass. This one and this one are set up with trucks and can technically bee ridden, while this one appears to be a serving tray for food. There are tips and there are tips. Boy Ipoh from SkateMalaysia.com tracked these down. All of them. Way to do my homework for me. Thank you.
