Friday you know what

As seen on FFFFound, reposted from Cool Shit’s Bullshit, and of course, credited by nobody, anywhere, beccause Tumblr is for lazy people who don’t care about credit where credit is due. If you know the original source of this, please let me know.* (And, sorry Betsy… I feel like I’m letting you down with this one.)

UPDATE: Thanks to a reader, we have the source. Photographer Pedro Duarte Jorge.

uppercut

Uppercut Deluxe

Uppercut Deluxe makes old style men’s grooming products such as pomade. They offer a collector’s box that contains a special edition Z-Flex skateboard that acts as a stand for these products when not being ridden.

The brand was built by the creative brains, passion and hard work of Luke Newman and Steve Purcell, childhood friends with a love for barbering, surf and skate. Newman discovered the world of barbering while staying in Portland Oregon with a friend building skateparks after his school years.

OK, I’ll admit I experienced my usual skeptical, negative backlash when I first saw this. But then, after reading a little, I thought if I had a business, why wouldn’t I try to incorporate the things I love if I could? Once, as a college dropout living in a college town “band house,” myself and a bunch of my roommates decided we all wanted “50’s head” right there, and right then. Trouble was, it was after the bars had closed. We scoured every open store in a 50 mile radius trying to find some pomade. Eventually we found some, probably at a truck stop, and we proceeded to give ourselves “50’s head.” We looked bad – instead of badass, because a good pompadour requires a little forethought before growing your hair. Then we spent a few hours sporting our new look in a 24 hour coffee shop on campus, drinking expresso, getting jittery, and looking weird. Nobody would make eye contact. It was anticlimactic, but we enjoyed it.

If you Have an unused half pipe…

Mr Duckhunt, excuse me, Dr Duckhunt has instructions on how to make an Army style tent from your collection of leftover unused halfpipes.

Ever want an army style tent but just cant afford it. if you Have an unused half pipe setting around you can Turn it into an army tent clubhouse. If your fortunate enough to be Canadian and traded a case of moose head for a half pipe and salmon . Then it’s not expensive. This project cost me under $60.

MC thinks this guy should be put on suicide watch. Judge for yourself at Instructables.

Freestyle Pizza

We passed Freestyle Pizza near Umatilla, Oregon on our road trip out east. It didn’t occur to us to actually eat there, but we did stop for pictures. We should have checked if they had custom take out boxes. Grover claims he sent me a shot of this last year, but I must have forgotten to post it. You can view larger versions after the jump. Those are some crazy Jetsons-looking trucks.

Bread Dude

This is Hawaiian Grill’s “Bread Dude.” Bread Dude? Seriously? OK. Wait, really? Bread Dude grill buns. I’m trying to imagine whose blood had more illicit chemicals in it, the person who came up with the idea, or the person who green lit it.

Water decals from Socal Speed Shop

Some examples of water-release decals from the 60’s during the crossover of the hot-rod skateboarding fads. For sale now by Socal Speed Shop. I threw the weird surfer dude in there to make the cover image 4 panels. Something about those old head culture illustrators, they loved drawing normal guys whose eyes were bugging out in somewhat normal situations.
