Lazy Editor, Annoying Video

I’m kind of taking the week off from posting on Skate and Annoy, but I’m not being lazy. I’m actually working on the back end of S&A, cleaning up some code and CSS, preparing to dump all the old static content into the the database. It’s annoying and slow going, but also long overdue. So watch this video of wacky germans who have invented a sport that combines streetstyle and freestyle skateboarding with the art of sitting on a stool. And not just any stool, it’s got to be a stupid expensive sport stool. Anything goes as long as you land on the stool. I thought it was a well executed parody, but a search on Youtube reveals way too many Hockern enthusiasts to be a hoax. Extreme sports stool! You will feel like loose stool after watching this video. [Source: Gizmodo] – Thanks to Seth Grossman and Aaron Polansky for the tip.

Bird Dog

Kind of a stretch to tie in a gratuitous Everly Brothers reference, but it’s slightly more clever than putting “Tony Hawk files for 3rd Divorce” in the headline. Hawk… Bird… Dog… Divorce… get it? GET IT? Yeah, I had to make you work for that one. And I am not implying his wife is a dog, so don’t even start. The real news here is no that Tony is unlucky at love, but that his divorce is newsworthy to US Weekly and the Washington Post, even if it is only in the celebrity section. – Thanks to… everyone an their brother who sent this in, but truth be told, Mrs Kilwag found it first.

Jogger does Nephicide

So why not have another challenging video? This one from LA’s Jogger, whom I mistook for Portland’s The Joggers, but not because I’d heard any of them before. There’s a payoff beyond the Vato Rat re-issue near the end if you can make it through. [Source: Coilhouse]

BBQ Corn Action

It’s going to be a light week here on S&A. I’m swamped with outside projects, so the only thing you get today is Calbee BBQ corn. It’s Hot & Spicy and the corn tassel mowhaked mascot likes to break dance and skateboard.

Tony Hawk has Game

Tony Hawk is hosting the Hall of Game Awardsshow February 25th on Cartoon Network. It’s a mildly amusing commercial, but what’s really interesting is a weird segment that aired immediately afterward called Super Scooter Dog. It’s one weird looking dog riding a scooter that is way more entertaining than any dog on a scooter. There’s no explanation as to what it’s for, but I suspect it’s something related to Cartoon Network.

2006 called…

And they want their skateboarding dogs back. Actually, Neo and Tuxedo (Yes, there are two.) might have a shot at cracking the big time. I was doing my due diligence on this post and found out that the reigning champs Tyson and Tilman both appear to have let their domain names lapse. It must have been the dog-job-killing Obama Care. Skateboarding dog connoisseur and tipster Greg Baller finds the pushing style of the terrier more refined compared to the plebian plodding of the bulldog.
