Strap on
As advertised in Thrasher? Apparently so. Yet another take on straps for skateboards. THey want you to think it will help you with your loop attempts, but they don’t want you to blame them if it all goes horribly wrong. – Thanks to Heath for the tip.
The sincerest form of flattery
Jim Phillips Fall/Winter show for 2013 has him going back to his roots as a skateboard graphic designer before he became the fashion icon that he is… Hold on a minute. What? That’s not JimPhillips? Jimbo then? No? OK. I’m sorry. This collection belongs to Jeremy Scott. [Source: Hypebeast]
Shaggo skateboards
So… they are skateboards covered with shag carpeting. Not the most original idea, but someone’s got to do the work for the lazy people. I’m not sure about the wisdom in naming one of your vehicles “The Lemon.” That’s Shaggo Skateboards.
How to fill a 5-gallon jug from a drinking fountain
As seen on Boing Boing, thanks to Mark Pendergrass.
It’s the socks
There’s some great skating mixed in the lifestyle/fashion shots of this promo video from a… sock company? Er.. yeah. It’a called Stance Socks. Does anyone remember that crappy magazine that Transworld published called… Transworld Stance? Does this trick have a name? Otherwise it’s what, a no-comply to tail on in a bowl?
Travels up to 10 Feet!
That would be accurate if you were talking about me lately… Buzz Lightyear is probably the second most ubiquitous character on a toy skateboard next to ole Bart Simpson, (Not to be confused with Bort Sampson.) If $11.99 is what they were blowing these things out at over at Ross, I’d hate to see what full price is. (Return)
Friday T&A on S&A
Elyse is a dancer at Mystic in Portland, photography by Hypnox. She actually skates too. We cover gentleman’s clubs and the Smithsoinan here on Skate and Annoy.
Cheeburger Cheeburger Cheeburger
No Coke. Pepsi This Pepsi can hails from Greece, circa 1993. Limited edition, don’t you know? Mohawks, dogs and guitars on skateboards. Radical. I can’t believe Greece still used pull tabs on cans as late as 1993. If you don’t get the reference, look it up. Good luck finding a video. Effing Hulu…
Santa Monica college has parking
Santa Monica College has parking for your Fratboards. This skateboard rack photo comes from the Skateboarder Magazine’s Facebook page. Yeah, you’ve seen it on Facebook already, but if you’re looking for it next year, where’s it going to show up? Is that the Governator on the podium? Yes, it is.
Tinkertoy Skateboard and Rider
I have no idea what the date is on this set. It’s #191, and still a Questor/Child Guidance company. Playschool bought them in 1985. The packaging on this looks like some sets from the late 70s. The one I have does not actually have enough pieces to build a skateboard or anything else, so I essentially bought a container for 3 bucks. UPDATE: Added some pics of more complete set with instructions from Ebay.
