Cleaning out the old hard drive again. I found an old 2013 auction for the Sidewinder skateboard at the bottom of the image above. My first thought was maybe it was related to the company that brought you Sidewinder wheels, but that seems more like a coincidence based on the quality of that deck and wheels, not to mention two different Sidewinder skateboards currently being auctioned off, both of which have the same logo as the wheels.
In reverse order, here’s a wooden Sidewinder deck. The screen printing on the top is the highest quality part of this setup. I guess the deck itself looks like a solid chunk of plywood.
The single action trucks and brittle wheels though… Thats what makes me think this board is probably not from the same manufacturer. Nice roller-skate toe stop as a skid plate.

Next up is this plastic beast. the graphics are worse for the wear, but the most interesting part is the tension contraption on the underside. It looks liek it was either there to provide some suspension or adjust the camber of the board.
Get it while it lasts.

Lastly, a well photographed fiberglass Sidewinder deck.
As with the plastic deck, it looks like it’s actually sporting these Sidewinder wheels. This one is available for a pretty steep $250, just across the river from Portland. Might be time to pay a visit.
