This started out as what was supposed to be a quick post (you’ve heard this before…) after a sideways glance at the collectibles aisle in Target caught my eye. They only had one figure and the box said there were 4 total to collect. Well that turned out to be a lie… I suppose they meant in this series at least. This preview image doesn’t even scratch the surface. It’s too much, and it gave me diabetes.
Here it is in the box, a 4″ tall “Premier” figure of Kuromi, which I guess is a rabbit and not a cat, according to the Hello Kitty wiki. This one will set you back about $9. Surprisingly, it did not require a lot self control for me to pass on this. I’m making progress. I wonder if Beach Party Attitude is successful too.

It says “Series 2 Skateboards” on the box so I wondered if there was a Series 1 Skateboards, but Series 1 is called “Sweet & Salty.”

Here’s some images courtesy of Sanrio and the various place you can but these online. This one is Actually THE Hello Kitty of Hello Kitty & Friends.

Here’s more of Kuromi again.

This one’s name is Pompompurin. As annoying as these names are, at this point I’m actually starting to think about collecting these now.

And finally (?) a frog named Kerropi. I think he’s a frog. (He is.) He’s sort of got an Aquabats vibe. Now I’m definitely thinking about collecting.

Did I say finally? Of course not. It turns out in 2024 there was a 6 pack of 4″ figures sold with skateboards. These are Series 1 of a different collector’s series. They don’t have the diagram in the corner like the other Series 1 figures that looks the same as these do.

Here’s a video I was going pinch and host but holy cow, it’s almost 20mb which will, I’m sure seem laughable in a decade or so, just as the tiny images from the early days of this website were sized for dial-up modems. Here’s a direct link and an embed as long as it lasts, courtesy of me not asking Jazwares, where at this time you can still buy these.
You’re probably thinking these all look the same as Series 2, and they do. The figures look identical but they are painted differently. Also, the skateboards have different designs on them, and there are two additional characters.

The two new figures are named My Melody (Another rabbit, you’re welcome.) and I think Cinnamoroll.

Thinking I was done, I accidentally found the Sk8r Squad series of plush keychains.

Trying to find more plushie skateboard keychains led me to discover this series of Hello Kitty fingerboard keychains. At this point I think we’ve all seen enough fingerboards, haven’t we? The ©’24 suggests these are from 2024, but more on that later.

No? Not enough fingerboards? OK, how about this series found at Alibaba? It has the air of not being an official Sanrio or Girl product. Surely it’s all authorized merch… I mean, consider the source.

The keychains and fingerboards keep coming!

The Sk8r Squad also has a couple of tote bags and a shirt collab from Girl skateboards that looks like it’s just a regular Hello Kitty shirt so it’s not worth posting.

Did I say Girl Skateboards t-shirt? I did. Of course there was a collab. FFS this should have been a 2-part post. It seem slick maybe Girl was a little bereft of ideas when they decided to make these… unless the idea was to make money. One day someone will ask Skate and Annoy to do a collab, and we’ll see how our moral compass reacts… Theres a good chance I missed some of these, but this is plenty to show.

Here’s a dangling figure that could be the typical semi-soft PVC, but it looks a like it could be a harder plastic in some photos.

Check out this micro-sized Hello Kitty hanging figure, labeled as a “Hip Hop” (?) figure. The listing does not mention a date, but if you you can see ©76.12. I can’t believe this figure was made in 1976. Even a stylized skateboard shapes didn’t look anything close to a popsicle stick back then. Peanuts characters famously included a copyright date from the 50’s regardles of when the toy was made. That might suggest an original copyright date of 1976 and a production date of 2012, but that seems to be a departure from the way Sanrio does things. Besides, she was created in 1975 and her first appearance on merch was in 1975. I’m sure nobody cares, so why do I?

This set appears to be from 2000.. It includes a “sunburned” figure that is allegedly super rare. The seller is asking $150 for it!

Finally, here’s two random figures. Another plastic keychain figure of what I guess is either Pompompurin or Cinamaroll. I can’t keep them straight anymore and my eyes are bleeding. On the right is a plush Hello Kitty holding a craptacular plush skateboard from 2006.

These Hello Kitty skateboard items are all pretty recent. There have been a few Hello Kitty posts in the past, I’m sure I’ve missed some. I’m sure there will be more. There’s an insane amount of photos in this post, over 80 actually. I hope I never see another Hello Kitty skateboard figure again, but if I win the lottery and finally open the Skate and Annoy Skateboarding Toy Museum, I’m going to buy them all…
