GT California Woody

Brightly colored plastic boards are what comes to mind when I think of Grentec, which is was I was surprised to see this GT California Woody. It features Max-trax trucks and an aluminum flat bar on the bottom, something they used on some of their plastic boards as well. It also has a rare for the era 2 color screen printed graphic on the top.

Thanks to Bill Dowell for the photos.

I had thought that Max-Trax might have been an in-house GT brand after seeing them mentioned in ads with GT products, but wasn’t sure until I saw a good pic of the hanger that deatures not one, but 2 GT™ logos.

Love that this still has the “Precision Bearings” sticker on it.

That aluminum beam is pretty thick. I had seen this in GT ads (1976) before but not in real life. Here’s a pic of one from Fernando Linhares This one is a little worse for the wear and features unusually tall and narrow wheels.
