Marty McFly ReAction

Funko Marty McFly ReAction Figure

ReAction stands for retro action figure. Funko is releasing a line of action figures based on nostalgia, including figures like the Terminator, Escape from New York, The Goonies, Pulp Fiction, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and a Back to the Future model with a Marty McFly that looks nothing like Michael J Fox. In fact, he looks more like Corey Webster in Thrashin’. That little plastic skateboard looks like it’s been chewed up a little.

No, he doesn’t resemble Fox at all. They should have used one of the figures from the Walking Dead.

    Too Soon?

  2. I like the way the jacket is weirdly disjointed over his legs

  3. I’ve seen better quality in happy meal toys. Cant wait to get a 3D printer so I can make my own action figures. Hmmm

    1. Probably Grosso. Yeah, that’d be sick.

That’s the whole point I think. They are supposed to look like those super crappy acton figures from the 70s/80s. In England I saw a new line of Star Wars toys like that: awful from a quality standpoint, but cool from a kitsch value.

Considering that a lot of collectors seem to be more interested in the packaging than what’s actually in the box they will probably sell tons of these. It doesn’t matter if it looks like Marty or not. But if a corner is bent a little on the card there will be holy hell to pay if it falls into the hands of an obsessive collector.

  5. The figure not looking like Michael J Fox is probably a licensing issue, more so than it is a production quality problem. This company recently did Alien figures and they look pretty good. Plus, they are supposed to look like eighties style figures which never had good likenesses, a lot of the Star Wars ones are pretty terrible.
