Fast Lane

Viral marketing from Volkswagon (don’t ever buy one) that equates the fun life with Volkswagons (don’t ever buy one). Does anyone want to buy a 2000 Eurovan with 110,000 miles on it? Don’t ever buy one, unless you want to buy mine, which is awesome. These guys affixed skateboards to some shopping carts. Stuck them in a grocery store somewhere in Europe obviously, because that shit would never fly here in the US. Kids crashing into the canned peas, knocking over old ladies, ruining the packaging on all Xtreme snack foods.

  1. LOL – My fulltime job endeavor is owner operator of http://www.tunerautomotive.net specializing in VW/Subaru/ BMW service and repair.
The eurovan is the WORST vehicle for repairs as they have and always are plagued with issues. The 2.8l 6 cylinder motor is almost bullet proof on these vehicles as they are tried and true Audi motors. But like with any vehicle are subject to issue if not properly maintained and preventative maintenance performed. The Auto transmissions in ALL VW’s are time bombs unless they are in a PASSAT which is an actual VW/Audi trans . All other auto transmissions were outsourced to a Polish company and never matched up. The 05 and later auto trans are ALL VW/Audi’s.

Cool man. Awesome knowledge, I love VW talk. I have a deep love for the old ones like ’65 and down (swing axles). Bugs, ghias, sq. backs, notches, things, buses, all of them. They were my life, they have a soul and a mind of thier own. I used to build cal styles and type 1 street/drag race engines. Weber 48’s – wooooop, I’m sure you know that beautiful noise.
If you are familiar with the famous drag racer Corey Mc Clenathen, I used to race VW’s with him in his early days. Take care bro.

  2. i had a ’98 gti vr6 that was bulletproof in every way.
i beat the hell out of it for 130,000 miles and it never failed me.
    got a 03 passat w8 after that.
what a pile of crap that thing was.
fun to drive, but every other week something would happen that required another 800$ trip to the dealer.
i had to replace the headlight bulb once.
to accomplish this you had to REMOVE THE FUCKING BUMPER AND GRILL.
3 hours of labor for a headlight.
    fuck a w8.

I just got rid of a 2002 Eurovan. The worst car ever for repairs. Not even the dealer could get it fixed in less than 3 trys and a minimum of $500. Traded it in before the tranny went out. No more VWs for me.
