Tony Hawk in B.C. comic

This goes back to September 5th. I completely missed this because I don’t get the paper, no matter how many times the Oregonian calls my house and tries to give it away. Then again I could have read it on Tony Hawk’s Twiiter account like the guys at Boardistan did, nerds…. I kid, I poach from Boardistan and vice versa. If I knew who the hell they were we could be interwebs friends. Getting back to the comic, big deal… Tony will really be famous when he gets mentioned in Andy Cap. These old comics are weird, the way they have new artists take over after the original one retires or dies. 20 years from now in an anthology someone will look at this and think “Who the hell is Tony Hawk?” It would make about as much sense as a Barney Oldfield reference today. Check out John Hart Studios for more B.C. (and Wizard of Id) action.

  1. I saw this one in the paper and thought about submitting it to you. There was another comic featuring a old lady skateboarding that ran on the same day in the same paper (Seattle Times).

I prefer Andy Roy’s appearance in the Family Circus

  3. Tony Hawk doesn’t ride a unicycle… just sayin’… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgzODhDrViA
    Eat your heart out, BC.

  4. ^^^^ That video is titled “Extreme Unicycle Backflip Bridge of Death Shark Attack”….I kept waiting for a shark to leap out and eat one of them.

That said, that first stair set was pretty dope.

Re: the comic strip – did you see the one that ran this past Sunday, where Brenda Starr pulls a double-pits-to-chesty? She fuckin’ rips.

  5. unicycling is to bicycles as
    rollerblading is to skateboarding.
They do some crazy stuff, but it looks lame.

  6. Enough about all this, OLD MAN SESSION is back on at DOS starting TONIGHT!
