Marek's miniramp

Zoning ordinances

So the joke goes, (my joke, by the way) that zoning ordinances and building codes in Portland require that any mini ramp built on private property must have at least one extension that goes to within one foot of the ceiling, an over-vert section, or a three foot or smaller transition. Apparently those rules apply to Beaverton as well. My friend Marek built himself a miniramp in his garage with really tight transitions, and of course, pool coping. MC and I went to check it out the other night.

When we first walked into the grarage I had to fight the temptation to turn around and leave. It looked impossibly tight and unrideable, but it actually ended up being a lot of fun. It was still impossibly tight though. Expect to get a lot of ankle bites and groin injuries when you ride this.

Marek didn’t seem to have any problems what so ever. MC adapted fast as well. MC is a smartass.

Marek certainly can ride this thing.

Note the sweatshirt over the garage door tracks that Mark kept gouging his side on. I didn’t have my fisheye lens on me so I was crammed into the corners of the garage trying to get some shots. If I had the fisheye you would get to see the full compliment of baby furniture and construction apparatus piled up in front of the garage doors.

Marek, just before the creature came out of the attic and ate his brains. That ledge in front of him has a parking block slated to go there as soon as Marek cuts it down to length.

That cat picture makes me crack a smile every time I see it. Hey Rob, can you email me the source for that cat so I can randomly include it in other pictures? I guess I could use my own cat, actually. Nevermind.

  • i guess it makes me an uber-loser but i like to look at photos at thrasher. the reading park is kind of bleh but then again i cant speak english to judge it objectively

Marek-i dunno about skating Slovics/Czechs, but the ones that dont skate that i know live there or lake oswego-my guess is because they have bank. I dunno why i sed that, thinking out loud and caffine forced my hand maybe. I will gladly bring the Obolones and Slovotich to session your humble masterpiece.

  • jake, hook me up with some skating czechs (or slovaks) from beaverton. i unfortunately dont know any. or just come skating yourself if you find the way to beavetron

  • jakeferranti
