Tel Aviv Airport public space

Free interpretations and unstructured activities

Continuing the trend where I raid the archives of Dezeen Magazine, this is the Port of Tel Aviv public space by the architecture firm Mayslits Kassif. Their hope is that the rolling surface will act as “a reflection of the mythological dunes on which the port was built and as an open invitation to free interpretations and unstructured activities.” Sounds like a session to me.

  1. Just make sure you bring something bigger than 55mm if you want to have a decent session…

  2. There’s boulders like those that are skateable in front of City Hall here. Pretty fun.

  3. i hit that spot a few months ago with some soft 56mm wheels. dope as hell and waaay nicer than the run down industrial area there before.

i also hit a brand new concrete park in zichron with a bowl worthy of any NW park.

I skated that spot last August. Tel Aviv rules for street skating, all kinds of fun, unique spots and no one kicks you out.
Zichron park was built by Grindline with some nw guest workers so of course its worthy. Those penny pinching jews can be a bitch to work for but Israel is awsome. Go if you get a chance.
