My first comic

The first comic I submitted to Thrasher appeared in the February 1982 issue. That must have been my birthday present. I turned 21 that month. Thrasher Magazine has posted all of the issues from their second year on their website.

MCs first comic in Thrasher
This must have been shortly before the first issue of Bodyslam.

Thanks to Skate Daily for the tip.

  1. MC,
Great to see your illustrative work in that collection of mags from 1982.

  2. Roots!

  3. Me be drawing on cave forever. Me invent word “grind”

  4. I wish they let you download an issue all at once like they did with the first year issues. Still, stoked that they kept the downloads going to year two.

  5. I remember practicing fakie ollies like crazy after this issue, always wondered if he meant it to be one footed (probably not). MC has been a huge influence on me in my later years (I can’t complain about my age anymore) but this proves that MC has actually been influencing me for over 25 years.
