Wallasey seafront spring 85

Wallasey seafront, Fall ’84

House of Neil sent me a couple pictures of him skating on the Wallasey (UK) seafront in the fall of 1984. The weather looks ominous. Are there tank traps on the other side of that wall? I love looking at grainy old skate photos. What board are you riding there Neil? Larger versions after the jump.

nope, nothing so glamorous I’m afraid. It was an ancient Sims Brad Bowman, painted black with homemade wooden rails and copers. Indys and red kryptonics. To top it off those are fake vans which I painted myself with fabric paint. Aaah England in the early 80s. One skateshop within a 500 mile radius.

that’s across the river mersey from Liverpool. 25 years on it still looks like this. There has been very little money spent on the seafront of Wallasey/New Brighton.
