Touch Grind iPhone App

Nobody wants to touch Touch Grind

Want to take your fingerboarding sessions to the next level? (Did I actually just type that?) There’s an IPhone app called Touch Grind that is basically a slightly different interpretation than the original concept-only Vans Finger Fracture. One big difference, Touch Grind is something you can actually purchase and play. And, it’s supposed to be pretty good. I’m one of those poor peasants who can’t afford an iPhone, so I don’t know how this game plays. It looks fun, but it also looks like it needs to be played with some extra screen real estate, say on a 17″ monitor. Yes, I know this game is not news anymore. I’m only mentioning it because I never got around to it originally, and if I don’t write about it on Skate and Annoy, it doesn’t exist. Errr… Yeah right. Concrete Wave had some sort of marketing partnership for inline advertising with the Swedish developers of Touch Grind, but the partnership went sour, just in time for a new ad that Concrete Wave took out in Transworld, of all places. I guess if I wanted to help them out I should have posted this earlier. What else? How about video captures of game play? After the jump of course.

Touch Grind – Official Trailer.

Fan Videos. DISCLAIMER: I haven’t watched any of these, so I’m not suggesting that they are all (or any) worht checking out, but they are here if you want them.

if that’s the case, maybe the X-games might actually be worth watching for once….

  • i hear its going to be in the x games

the biggest problem is the view is so close in on the board that you can’t see the obstacles your trying to hit until they suddenly pop onto the edge of the screen. it’s still kinda fun to goof off with on long car rides.

  • I have an iphone with a few bucks credit in itunes and still can’t bring myself to do it.

  • maybe you all know this, you know how youtube makes suggestions for you based on what you watch?.. well after about 4 clips you tube starts trying to feed me fingerboarding videos. I have watched several just out of sheer bewilderment. there are hundreds of fingerboard videos. and for shits and giggles I have checked out fingerboard websites. this has got to be the goofiest subculture ever!!
you know how we have skateshops?? there is even a “fingerboard shop” in austria (i believe). no shit, a whole store devoted to “fingerboarding”. I think they even have contests, and maybe even sponsored “riders”. it is really wierd and almost facinating, but ultimatly borring…
this Iphone thing is art, that imitates art, that imitates life. when will it all end?

Yeah, I’ve collected a couple of doozies in the fingerboard video dept. Originally I had been waiting to post it until I found the original how-to make your own fingerboard article in what I thought was thrasher, but I think is Transworld. I need to go through the back issues and find it.
