Mike Vallely in the movies

MIke V (and others) in Mall Cop.

Mike V has a supporting role as one of the bad guys in the movie Paul Blart: Mall Cop, and he’s pimping it hard on his web site. He’s go the trailer, a couple previews, three TV appearances and and some production stills on his web site. Mike did more than just stunts, he’s a real character in the movie. One TV commercial for Mall Cop shows a split second of skateboarding. I figured it was not a big part of the movie. But apparently, the “bad guys” are all terrorists who happen to be good at extreme sports… Good thing is a comedy and not xXx. Sounds corny? According to Vallely in an Buzzine interview:

More importantly, Vallely said James and the entire production crew went out of their way to understand the perspective of skateboarders and BMX riders. “The most important thing for us is that everyone wanted to this right,” the skateboarding veteran said. “Usually people don’t get skateboarding. The stunt team and production team learned a lot from me, but I also learned a lot from them in terms of how to work on a Hollywood movie.”

Who esle is in it? Jason Ellis, Rick Thorne, and Mike Escamilla. So, rather than embed the whole slew of videos here, head on over to Mikevallely.com to check it out. Not since Police Academy 4 have we seen such convergence of almost-law enforcement and skateboarding. If you’d rather actually see skateboarding in Police Academy 4, keep clicking. There’s even a Spanish subtitled version of behind the scenes stunt skateboarding narrated by stuntman and old Pepsi team skateboarder Wink Roberts.

  1. god, this movie was sofa king lame. King of Queens, a great show, but cmon. Kevin James was terrible in “Hitch” as well. I think he needs Jerry Stiller. But for some reason it was number one 2 weeks in a row and still going. Perhaps it’s Adam Sandler’s name on it that sells tickets? I don’t know, but man if you call this funny I guess you laugh at America’s Funny Home Videos with Bob Faget…

  2. mark ratner and david spade, FUCK YEAH

  3. I have to cop to laughing at AFV, nothing beats a whiffle bat to the groin…

I watched this movie last night on movie6.net and I thought it was alright. Disclaimer- I do laugh at America’s Funniest Home Videos, especially those videos involving cute babies and animals.

  5. bob saget “here’s an appealing fellow, as a matter of fact they’re a-peeling him off the sidewalk right now.” or was that troy mcclure. i also think it was hans moleman and/or george c scott getting hit in the groin with a football…

there is this kid in our town who worships mike v. to the point of absurdity. He always rides a Mike V. deck, he went out and bought the exact same jeep wagoneer that mike is seen to drive, he dresses like him. He even stopped shaving when he saw a picture of mike sporting the Jesus look. What cracks me up the most is he loves mike v because in the world of todays pros, he stands out as completely different and unique. Which begs the question, why be a clone if you respect him for his individuality?
