This is the second and last installment of Fun to Draw Skateboard Action book. Along with the familiar misnomers and weird physics, the second half of the book features a couple of filler pages with some “totally rad” action and an exercise to match the safety equipment with the part of the body that it goes on.
This lesson should have been titled Dropping In instead of Backside Tailslide. In the early stages it looks like a kick flip.
Draw designs on the clothing. Decorate the board.
Frontside No-Hands Aerial? That’s straight outta 1980. Curious that later on in the book they call out an ollie. Must have been using old reference material again. Also, they recycled this set of instructions from the Drawing Steps explanation pages in the beginning of the book.
Add motion lines (that defy the laws of physics!)
Rolling an edger? What is this, a Cheech and Chong movie?
Wearing down the insides of those wheels.
Ollie off the ramp, but it looks like he’s grabbing the nose.
Kids, don’t try building a launch ramp with this steep of a transition at home. This man is a trained professional.
This looks like it’s going to be a very nice frontside invert…
…until the transition is added.
It’s a vert ramp morphing into a bowl. It’s totally rad!
