Skate and Annoy: Daily

Bally-Radical

Radical!

At least when you’re playing a skateboarding themed pinball machine, you’re standing up.

Enlarge the advert. This and a bunch of other old game images are here.

Update: Looks like they have this thing over at Ground Kontrol in Portland.

Update: Kilwag has more pictures of this thing coming soon.

  • Right on Kilwag! I will provide you with some fodder. FYI, I am also ranked 6th in the world at the old game Spy Hunter. I have two of the sit down models at home. One of them is for sale, if anybody cares.

bobcat, thanks for backing me up on the Cab crossbone. That’s what I thought!

The art for Skateball is damn amazing. I will see if I can get it up this weekend sometime.

I am most seriously overdue for a posting anyway.

  • you are right Coulter – it was an airbrushed knockoff of a Powell ad with Stevie doing a lien Crossbone air. That was the hot trick at the time.

  • A

Coulter, I think a photo shoot is in order.

  • Both the Radical! and the 720 in Ground Kontrol are mine. I also have Skateball at my house here. I was all about trying to collect the old pins and skate video games. I think that the air to fakie on Radical! is an old Steve Caballero shot.

I know that Chicken has Radical! as well. It’s actually a pretty fun game.

  • That pinball was a staple at many skateparks in the 90s .. Stone Edge, the Charleston Hanger and the Bellevue Indoor all had that game. Kinda sucked. I don’t like the early Bally or Gottelib games as there is too much of a gap between the flippers and they experimented with all this bullshit ramp and/or bumper features that always shot the ball down the middle.

I will take any of you in Medieval Madness or Adams Family though.

  • I knew it was coming. Recycling the Rich Burton shot again. Dude, you didn’t take that photo did you? Now I’m triply embarassed.

  • MC, It looks like the guy in the Radical advert is sitting in a chair just like you in your earlier post. Did you give him a few pointers? You’ve definitely got the style points though. LOL!!

  • Oh no! Now I

  • Same graphics/skater as Radical Mathmatical

  • Yeah they got that over at Ground Control. It’s pretty awesome, I can usually rock a few free games out of it.

  • These guys have it for sale.

720 Skateboard arcade game $1,895 – Add new side art $200
    Radical Skateboard themed pinball $2,995

  • It was called Ollie King.

  • They used to have a game at the Avalon arcade (Wunderland?) where you were on a board and could move it certain ways to navigate obstacles or do tricks. I would tell you what it was called, but so far every link on my Google search has been blocked by the work filter for adult content. It must have been more awesome than I remember!

  • I tried to use a Dance Dance Revolution mat controller to play Tony Hawk

  • Because pinball is just exactly like skateboarding! Guffaw.
