Not Stoked

44 year old Mark “Gator” Anthony was denied parole in his 31 year to life conviction for the 1991 murder and rape of Jessica Bergsten. He won’t be eligible for a release again for 7 more years.

  • Her family and friends don’t get a chance for parole.

  • who cares anyway

due to the amount of anti-semetic groups in jail i don’t think gator faced any wrath at all for killing a jewish woman. instead the prisoners probably had an air of ‘score settling’ about them…do the crime do the time…sorry gator u coulda got laid at any zumies for the next 20 years! you blew it

  • While this was going on and the search for the girl he killed was going on, there was an ASR trade show in San Diego. I’m at the POWEREDGE booth and Gator walks up with his head shaved and a bible in his hands. He asked for Rick Kosicks phone number. He had not turned himself in, but the surfboard bag with the dead girl in it had been found and his hours were numbered as he turned himself in a few days later. His whole body was trembling, he could barely write the phone number down I was giving him. I asked him how he was and he said in a lie with a half smile “oh everythings ok”… He walked off and I’ve not seen him since. What a waste of life – he was my friend but I don’t have any sympathy for murderers. Terribly Unfortunate….

I don’t remember, did he find god before or after he killed her?

    • He’d actually gotten away with the crime (except internally). He found god, and confessed to his pastor who encouraged him to tell on himself. I think prison needs more christian murderers than the free world does. He’s more convincing doing the work of jesus from inside.

  • kevin mtl

he should have gotten the death penalty.
    and be done with him

    • Prickly Pete

Kevin, don’t text while drinking Hamms.

    • The Shralper

DEATH PENALTY DEBATE!!! HERE WE GO!!!

    • Pretty much…

It’s not like going to prison washes away all the urge to rape out of a person’s system. In fact it’s like rape graduate school. Go in with an associates degree and come out with a masters degree in rape.

  • who cares anyway

in 1990 skateboarding ws effectivly dead monetarily speaking, the mainstream just did’nt figure how to pimp it coreectly…flash forward to 2011 and its a giant cash crop…gator would’ve been a rich man these days had he just kept his cool, tons of followers wouldve supported him…or he may have just been another forgotten vert dog

  • I hope he’s been sodomized at least a few times. Maggot.

  • He’s a skater. And a murdering rapist. And accomplished at both.

  • talentlessquitter

I sure hope the “Not” part in the title refers to Mark and not to you,Kilwag.

A lot of people seem to be mad at him for being a murderer but it doesn’t help if we keep linking his name to the ‘skateboarding’ name (Central Coast Ken?!).In my eyes he is an ex-skater.When -and if- he comes out,my bet is he wil sooner or later pick up a board and drop in somewhere again.Wether you want to recognize him as a skater or not,is for all ourselves to decide.I guess we have another seven years to think about that.

    • A

      He’s “Not Stoked”

Actually, the only reason he is a “famous” murderer is because he was a famous skater. Right now he’s not bad or good for skateboarding, he’s not involved in the industry.

      • I’m just pissed that people that think what great guy he is, and poor Mark dose not deserve this. You might ask yourself, would you skate with the guy when he’s released , he’s done his time.

  • best quote from the otc forum:
“but your honor, VERT is BACK!”

  • Central Coast Ken

I’m glad they didn’t let him out! raped ,murdered and stuffed Her dead body in a surfboard case, what a guy .SORRY to here he is on the Central Coast I’ll flip him off on my way to skate! he should be in a real prison not some min. security joint. That guy just bad for skateboarding!

  • I’d like to have seen the hearing.
“Do you feel remorse for what you’ve done?”
“Well, I didn’t really do anything”
“You raped and killed a young lady. We have proof. We know you did it. You know you did it. You did it.”
“Well, it’s more like, it was done and I was there. I may have done it, but it wasn’t my fault”
    “Denied”
“But I’m Gator! Mark Anthony! Don’t make me call Brad!”
