Sweden and Japan

Japan and Sweden are…

Two countries that are alike in so many ways… at least if you are mostly going by the fact that I’ve never been to either, but that doesn’t stop me from being vaguely connected to people there through the magic of the Interwebs™. After the jump catch two videos sent to me through various global dealing of Skate and Annoy. We’re huge, you know.

Sweden

First up, this is a cool video from Semester Skateboards out of Sweden. Of course the skating is fun to watch, but what I really like watching is some of the DIY looking terrain that I haven’t seen before. This Semester video is called “Tur i retur” which translates to “Luck in return” according to one of those free online translators. The soundtrack leads me to believe these guys are Wes Anderson fans. This is a really well made vid.

Japan

Here’s a sponsor me vid from Masataka Yamashiro of Japan. It must have worked, because now he rides for California Street Skate Shop.

  1. Cool videos. Did someone sponsor Masataka Yamashiro? They should.

The Swedish one was more like real world fun skating. Less takes, less freaky tech magic.

  2. One of the songs he used is the Theme for “Parinoid Rark Try Outs” A GVK classic.

Gee, I would have thought he needs to pay someone more than that in order for them to take it off his hands!
