Burnside mini documentary on Current
June 16th, 2008 by kilwag

Here’s a short documentary on the Burnside skatepark. I’ve heard rumors about multiple documentary projects dedicated to covering Burnside but this is the first one I’ve ever actually seen. It’s on Current, which is the web component of the TV network that features all user generated content. I haven’t watched the network in a long time, but it was pretty hit or miss the last time I checked it. This particular documentary is OK. It’s short, but it has some good footage and old pictures and a few amusing moments. I guess there’s a chance it could end up as one of the segments on TV if it hasn’t aired already. Is this not the one that was on OPB?

Yeah this one was on OPB. Dreamland has a copy of it on their website. Burnside OPB documentary

It’s not the exact same one. Looks like is got some of the same footage. The guy must be re-editing and recycling. I think they used some for the Oregon Skatepark Pioneers segment on OPB’s Oregon Field Guide as well.

I enjoyed Dahlgren’s enthusiasim. Now tell him no more street parks unless the kids go to the meetings, and support them. It was a good piece.

The guy who did the OPB video was also a part of the Current TV one. I didn’t think I saw any of the Field Guide footage, but not certain.
