Hang Ten Sportboards

hang-ten

The Hang Ten company is actually called Hang Ten Sportboards. Sportboarding is not a crime! This add appeared in the first issue of the reborn Skateboarder magazine in 1975. The packaging design is pretty well conceived, surely they advertised elsewhere first. The popularity of skateboarding had to be growing well before this magazine was published. You might notice different aspects of the advertisement seem out of square, and they are. It was hard to choose how to crop this ad because it was printed crooked on the paper and not all of the horizontal and vertical axis are parallel with each other.

Some details from the ad.

That’s good looking packaging.
