Sponsor Luv: Merde Skateboards
Welcoming Merde Skateboards to the list of beloved sponsors with this video called Uber. It’s a video. It’s a winter time video that started back in August ’09. Everyone’s skating, except for Tyler since we didn’t have any footage because Carlos taped over his stuff. Oh, well. It has Stevie Wonder. He’s singing a remake of a Beattle’s song. I never really got into the Beattles a whole lot. They’re good, but Stevie is rad. He’s from Michigan. Rensberry is from Michigan. They never called Stevie “Doctor Fantastic”, but they did call him “Little Stevie”. He got on Motown when he was like 12. That’s like getting on Girl when your 15…good luck. Stevie Wonder is the best. PERIOD.
Sponsor Luv: Diesel Fuel Klutch Collaboration
Diesel Fuel Prints is the place we get our stickers from, and so should you. They’ve teamed up with Klutch to produce a screen printed poster commemorating our President’s failure to accomplish meaningful change at the end of his first term year. Obama looks like an Alice Cooper Tech Deck Dude in the shot above. Click here if you are losing hope.
WEB HOST ISSUES – SITE IS KOOKED!
We’re having web host issues, so the site is messed up right now. I’m not getting much help or information from my host right now, so I can’t tell you when it will be functioning again. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please bear with us. Well, we’re back. Unfortunately, I spent my time dealing with nonsense instead of making posts. S&A will be back up to speed again within 24 hours. That’s Tim Eberly overamping my photo framing abilities.
Sponsor Luv: S&A Welcomes Diesel Fuel Prints
Skate and Annoy welcomes Diesel Fuel Prints as a sponsor. That’s the shop miniramp in the photo above. I swear I thought I posted this photo already, but I can’t find it anywhere. I think this guy might have been an ex-employee just back to enjoy the facilities, but don’t quote me on that. Wouldn’t you want your stickers printed someplace where the help has a squeegee in one hand and a skateboard in the other? I know we do, and so does a few other places you may have heard about, such as Bacon, Cold War, Merde, Earth Patrol Media, and Antigravity Press. Diesel Fuel Prints also screens posters, sells screen printing supplies, and has a retail space where they sell vinyl toys and the like. Check them out, and tell ’em we sent ya if you place an order. Like the banner ad says, you can get 500 stickers for a cheap as $40. Everyone has at least one sticker they want to make for that price!
Sponsor Luv: Ravage Skateboards
Skate and Annoy welcomes Ravage Skateboards as a sponsor. I asked Jordan for an intro to the company, he said the “About us” from the web site would work, but also gave me some more personal insight: I used to be the buyer for all the Munitions stores in the NW and have skated pretty much all my life and wanted to make a company that was as professional and serious as the big guys but fun and manageable enough to have the small family feel still. So in 2008 I mocked up a company called Ravage Skateboards and in 2009 executed that plan and made it a reality. Our boards are pressed one-at-a-time and feature different art each season from various artists from across the country. We are a Portland based company with our offices in Tigard but I spend half my time in LA working evenings in the music industry and the other half up here skating our amazing NW collection of parks all while doing Ravage during the day. I am very stoked to be forging my own path and nothing beats the feeling of seeing someone at the park riding your own product and having a…
Skate the Lake (Cunningham)
Friend of the site Weirdo Skateboards is also one of the sponsors of a contest series at Lake Cunningham skate park. More info at sjparks.org, or check the flier after the jump. I hear that Cab is a regular there. Sure would be a bummer to have to skate against him, huh?
Sponsor Luv: Bacon – Signature Knockout
This month’s Sponsor Luv post for Bacon Skateboards – Bacon has teamed up with the skateboard site Subpublic.com to give away a really freaking nice video camera, but you have to do some work. The Bacon team will name a trick and then you have to submit a video of yourself doing the trick, then everyone gets to vote on who makes it to the next round. Everyone that votes has a chance to win one of several decks though. Official details for the competition are here. Catch the first round challenge after the jump.
Sponsor Luv: Weirdo Skateboards
This is Weirdo Skateboards rider, test pilot and representative Tom Beeson The photo was shot by Dwayne Sackey at the Berkeley Skatepark in Berkeley, CA. Get some hot, weird action.
Sponsor Luv: Cutbird Skateboards
Say hello to Cutbird Skateboards, a company out of Billings Montana owned by Ted Riehl. They sell their boards primarily on the web and in skate shops throughout Montana. In Ted’s own words: We are the new kids on the block without the lame songs; but we still rock jean jackets. That’s Cutbird rider Larry Kucsulain in the photo above. Click to enlarge. I know we’ve got some readers out in Montana, maybe someone can fill us in as to what a “cutbird” is.
