Sesame Street is (still) rad

The Tangerine Taco hates Sesame Street, but Sesame Street carries on. This is Oscar the Grouch’s pet worm Slimey on tour in social media posts traveling the world. Slimey was photographed at a skatepark in Kihei on Maui. It’s been a while since I’ve added a Muppets-related post here. Source: Sesame Street – Thanks to Tim Gordon for identifying the spot.

muppets

Muppets. In your face, until you’re sick of them.

So this started off as a follow up find to the other picture of Mr. Snuffleupagus on a skateboard, but of course, I couldn’t leave well enough alone. It’s by no means the definitive Muppets skateboarding post, a good place to start for that is the Muppet Wiki. If only I could channel this enthusiasm and energy into my career…

Skateboard Forensic Nerd

You see detective, this type of lichen is native to the Pacific Northwest, and by the flowering buds on the trees in the background are blooming early, which is caused by excessive urethane and concrete fumes found in high concentrations in certain cities. Chutes and ladders… I was thinking it would be fun to make an oversized Chutes and Ladders game board based on stairs and railings, and using Tech Deck figures as the game figures. The metaphor doesn’t quite work with skateboarding where sliding down the railing is a positive experience and not a punishment. – Thanks to Mark Pendergrass for the tip

Aquadoodle and Elmo

If you have kids, you end up with Elmo crap, like it or not. This thing is called Aquadoodle. It’s some sort of plastic paper printed with an ink that is barely visible until it gets wet. My kids don’t like it that much because they have no control over the colors. And because they are kids, they’ve gone ahead and scribbled on them. This Elmo on a skateboard dates back to 2007, tomorrow I’ll show you another Sesame Street character on a skateboard from 1977.
