Callin’ on Colin #33: Marek Litinsky

Callin on Colin is back! My 33rd interview with Marek Litinsky, a transplanted Czech Republic native living in Oregon. This is the first time i’ve spent any real time with Marek… I recorded it in his garage, both of drinking a beer and standing around shooting the shit. I really like this new formula because i think it helps my guest relax and talk more comfortably. I’m new to my audio stuff using a wireless lapel mic system and my iphone… which obviously failed when someone called me since i didn’t put it in “Airplane mode”… at which point i increased the volume which made it sound much better anyway… we had a good time despite the poor audio quality. At the end of the interview i think i freaked out about how it wasn’t recording correctly that i decided to just cut it off. Thanks to Marek for being such a good sport!

Wally Inouye on Callin on Colin Today

He’s one of the more admired figures in the history professional skateboarding who has been features countless times in magazines. In fact he’s still being featured in the skate mags. You can walk down the toy aisle and see his picture on the Del Mar Pool replica. A couple years ago he had a Shot of the Week here on S&A ( I’m sure his biggest honor to date…) The great thing is, you can still skate with this guy if you want to . I took this poorly exposed shot of him last year at the Dew Tour. He was sitting behind me and I happened to turn around when the arena sign was lit up with “Skate Vert.” It sounds like a command, but it’s actually just the event that was happening at the moment. Hear Tom ‘Wally” Inoye interviewed live at 2pm Pacific on Callin’ on Colin. If you miss it you can download the show when they archive it.

Colin on Cancelled

Callin’ on Colin is going to be a rerun today. Old man Colin pulled his back in an embarrassing way, and is immobilized for the time being, otherwise you’d be enjoying an interview with none other than Wally Inouye. There’s a teaser of Wally Inouye interview up on Juice Magazine. Professor Farnsworth illustration courtesy of Sarah’s Futurama fan art on Slurmed.com.

Weiner on Call

Today’s guest on Callin on Colin is Howard Weiner, owner of one of the longest running skateshops on the West Coast, if not the entire world, Portland’s Cal Skates. Howard has been a fixture in Portland politics for a long time. The picture (above left) is Howard marching on City Hall in 1970. You might recall he briefly ran for Portland City Council. Howard might be the first actual adult that Colin has interviewed. Tune in live via the interwebs at 2pm Pacific, or download the show a couple hours later.
