The Baby was delivered at The High Dive Hospital in Champaign Illinois on September 16, 2006. Proud parents were seen in the audience shouting themselves hoarse and spraining their wrists attempting to give the sign of Satan. More pics to follow later. In keeping with the head/skull theme of the last three posts, here’s a pic of the “Grateful Shred” Matix tour poster. Uggh. Johnny Rotten said “Never trust a hippie” and the Didjits have a song called “One Dead Hippie.” What else is there to say besides we’re grateful Jerry’s dead.

Posting the Didjits Houlie Ghoulie head reminded me that I had another skull issue to deal with. Sometimes something is so ugly that it becomes a thing of beauty.

Praise God The Christmas Fish, I’m headed to see the Didjits again, for second time in one week. This time as I’m hooking up with the band in advance so I should have no problems getting my camera in to what could be the last show… ever. Rumor has it there will be a vert session of old CU skaters thanks to Mike Poor. All I can say is Balls… Fire.

A coworker had these on the desk yesterday. Good enough reason to start a new category since I’ve got a backlog of food packaging with skateboards on it in my basement. These cookies look like they are made out of Play Doh ®. Seriously! See the proof after the jump.

Vieira has some cool pics of Wallos aon a new blog that I thought I’d pass on seeing as how our Newcastle feature just made mention of it. Looks like they dug a weird trench through the middle (10 years ago..). Not sure if that was to dissuade skaters, cause Vieira’s short on the details. In the 80’s Oak St Beach was a hot spot for street skaters, and the closest Midwest flesh parade there was to Miami’s South Beach today. I don’t know if you’re still allowed to skate there because it rained while I was in Chicago. What you get instead is this tourist approximation of Oak Street Beach in the form of a crappy theme sports bar at Chicago’s Midway Airport. Awesome hubba ledge shot after the jump.

Nothing beats traveling 2,000 miles to take a photograph only to be told you can’t bring your camera in and there are no more photo passes available. Never mind that I contacted the label weeks in advance, explaining that I was traveling to Chicago from Portland in order to photograph The Didjits reunion show for an upcoming article in Razorcake Magazine. I wasn’t asking to get for free, I already bought my pass. I just wanted to be sure I could get in with my camera. It’s not like these guys reform with the original (or any) lineup every day. I was told by the Touch and Go employee that I would not need a photo pass to get in with my digital SLR. Getting to the gate I was denied access with the camera. WTF!??!!
