You may remember me, I’m the editor of Skate and Annoy. Since we’ve last talked, S&A has been through a couple of web hosting plans, and we’re finally online again. It’s been like a vacation, really. A vacation filled with angst, stress and despair. I got to Wally World and it was closed.

Thanks for sticking with us. We’re on a hosting plan for wankers right now. Not actual wankers, you know, because that kind of bandwidth is expensive. We’re on a regular shared hosting account until the VPS gets sorted out. I got tired of waiting. OK, I got scared everyone would forget about Skate and Annoy. In a couple of weeks we’re moving to a beefy VPS. Don’t worry, the transition will be nearly seamless this time, and when we do switch over we will be rolling out a new look and some new features.

I don’t have any new content for you today, I’ve been busy getting things working again, and there will likely be some glitches here and there. If you find some, please drop me an email to let me know what the problem is. In the meantime, while GVK was unable to help with the technical aspects of the great Skate and Annoy Rebate, he did manage to document it with uncanny insight. Catch it after the jump.

Another month has flown by and here we have another installment of Baywatch. There’s lost more goodies this month, and hopefully some that you have never seen before. The longer I do this the less inclined I am to keep on featuring the same decks from the same companies, high ticket items though they might be. There’s only so many ways to describe a Hawk birdclaw without it being repetitive, so I’ll choose something else instead. It might not be as iconic, or go for as much money, but that’s not what this column is about. It’s not a price guide, more a sampling of what I find interesting, and hopefully you do too. So, variety is the key for me at the moment.

Sure, the “Wild Things” movie was the top gross at the box office last weekend, but MC was into it before Spike Jonze. My wife refused to have her face shown in this picture. Get your shirt from Antigravity Press. Noticeably absent from the soundtrack, X and Tone Loc.

I stumbled on Shrek, the sidewalk swamp surfer puzzle while I was researching the possibility of having vinyl toy GVK skateboard figures made. (It’s not going to happen, folks. ) I havent seen this puzzle in the wild, but then again, I haven’t been looking either.

The Park-Pro, not to be confused with Ken Park and one of the most unlikely re-issues. I thought I had a YouTube video with Ken Park giving a parking lot demo in the 80’s, but I can’t find it. Oh well. At least you can still get a quality skateboard product from Kmart. I’m actually digging that die cut grip tape. Maybe I should try to bring that back.

The “skateboard” key word channel on my DVR picked up a show on Current TV. I was a bit confused because to get to it I had to FF through 10 minutes of a segment titled “Why we shave down there,” with a bunch of women talking about, well, you know. There was indeed some skateboarding, a fun little street sequence featuring skateboarder and artist Mark Warren Jacques. Turns out he lives in Portland is a partner in a gallery that is about 10 blocks away from where I live, yet I’ve never been in there. I guess I’ll have to remedy that. Someone on Madison Avenue is earning their paycheck. What are the odds of a skateboard blog picking up and posting something only marginally sideways related? I was skeptical when I got the email, but this Dos Equis commercial featuring “the most interesting man in the world; On rollerblading” actually made me snort. I need to learn how and when to use semicolons. Just say “Dos Equis.”
