I used to be a regular at Uncle Fun (Not the name of a N.A.M.B.L.A chapter…) when I lived in Chicago, so when I was back over the holidays I decided to drop by for another visit. Riizoli New York is publishing a book containing every cover from the first 30 years of Thrasher Magazine called Maximum Rad: The Iconic Covers of Thrasher Magazine, with an introduction written by Craig Stecyk. There are 250 pages of covers, some full page, some are quarter page. It’s being released on February 21st, and Skate and Annoy has a copy for one lucky S&A reader. Just leave a comment in the post, deadline is February 21st at midnight. Don’t bother trying to butter up the editor, it’s random.

What a difference a day makes; Some more information, a new flyer, and now the beer is free. This Brooklyn Benefit will be to help fund a new miniramp section behind the back 4ft pocket to the sidewalk in the asphalt section. We want to try and raise $3,000, and although it will take a few of these fundraisers, donating (suggested) $8 will help BSSS get their faster! Brooklyn Street Skate Spot is now going to be under Skaters for Portland Skateparks non-profit status which will make it easier for funding and accepting other donations!

MattyCollector.com reports that Mattel is going to release a hoverboard of sorts… Details are slim. It apparently “glides over most surfaces,” whatever that means. So is it just a slippery board or does it have wheels hidden inside it that aren’t visible from the top Finally! This totally awesome 1:1 replica of the hover board from the BTTF 2 and BTTF 3 films includes multiple whooshing sounds and will glide over most surfaces (does not actually “hover” – check back in 2015 for that feature). We’ll be taking orders for it March 1 – March 20, 2012, and the final product will be shipped around November/December 2012. Because this is such a high-cost item, there will be a minimum number of orders required to go into production. If we don’t receive the minimum orders, won’t go into production and customers will not be charged. The price will be announced later this month. (Note: Hover board does not work on water.)
