This tip came to me with the subject line “Some Nerd,” which pretty much sums it up. Microsoft’s iPad contender called Surface actually looks pretty cool. Someone at Microsoft mounted trucks to it, at which point I’ll take the opportunity to point out that it’s already been done on an iPad. A Microsoft executive actually took it for a spin though.

Rich Burton of Earth Patrol Media has a photography show at Extracto Coffee Roasters on NE Killingsworth in Portland, OR and his lame friends here at Skate and Annoy neglected to mention it. Sorry dude. There are 60 photos on display and for sale. Check out the images here. Proceeds to benefit the Fernhill Skatepark effort. The 60 images have been up for a couple of weeks already. Go check it out before it comes down and enjoy some fine coffee while you’re there.

By the time this post goes live, the limited edition Disney Paul Krassner & Wally Wood will undoubtedly be sold out or otherwise no longer available from Boom Art, $340 or not. The content aside, the overall package is really well done. This is the way to, uhm… do it. The Disneyland Memorial Orgy illustration is not a tip to 90’s era skate graphics copyright steamrolling, but was originally drawn in 1967 and published in what the hippies called an underground comic.

Dezeen has photos of some skateable industrial architecture painted up pretty and chopped up a little and presented as an art installation. The bank looks fun, but the installation looks really intriguing actually. Rotor is the collective culprit in Belgium.

The incident began before 9 p.m., when about 1,500 skaters and skate fans showed up to a theater that only holds 600 people to watch a free premiere of the skateboard movie, “Bake and Destroy.”

At least NBC News knew what was going on. One site said it was 300 “protestors” who were mostly skateboarders, except they couldn’t say what they were protesting. That’s the left wing media for ya man, I’m voting for Reagan.

Plan B is launching a video history of Plan B. This first segment is titled Mike Ternasky Reflection, Return of ‘The Team.’

In 1991 Mike Ternasky assembled one of the most dominant teams in the history of the sport and produced what many consider to be the best skate video of all time, Questionable. In 1994, after Mike’s tragic death in car accident the future of the team appeared to be over. Then in 2005, founding team members Danny Way and Colin McKay relaunched the brand with their own version of the super team and a dream to continue the legacy of Plan B.

There’s a new skatepark opening about an hour and some change north of Seattle in a town called Sedro-Woolley. The grand opening is Saturday
